BBC News has just reported that Duran Duran has bought land in SL and is planning to hold concerts there. This, just following Suzanne Vega's recent interview/performance, seems to point to a growing acceptance of SL as a viable venue for media presentation of all stripes. I'm just excited to see Duran Duran play. I remember working at a Tower Records in Hawai'i, hearing all sorts of Duran Duran jokes, but when the Decade album of greatest hits arrived, that disc got more in-store play than anything else out at the time. It'll be interesting to see a whole band of avatars do their thing, and to see what other projects the band might have in mind.
Thinking of this, isn't it time Gorillaz were in-world?
