After Eyebeam released the OpenGL Extractor (OGLE) it was only a matter of time before someone started offering models of your Second Life avatar for some price. The OGLE is a program that allows you to extract model data based on OpenGL calls. Because Second Life uses this magical OpenGL technology, as does WoW, this software can be used to extract your avatar from in world. It started quite a stir when it first came out because it would also be used to extract anything else. Now, once you have your avatar extracted you need something useful to do with it. This is where Fabjectory comes in. This new service will build you a model of your avatar using some form of rapid prototyping printer. This is coming at the cost of $49 USD for a 2 inch tall model, $75 USD for a 5 inch model, and $99 for a 7 inch tall model. I'd go for the full 7 inches (please no jokes about Tommy Lee).
While other services are tried to do similar things to Fabjectory none have really caught on. You have to assume the level of demand would be less than overwhelming. Now if my Master Penguin action figure (not doll) had adjustable joints and GI Joe style action combat grip, I would be the first in line to get mine. For now, however, I'm holding out. If you can't you can get sign up online or at their in world store.

1. It's getting there. Used to be your avatar had their arms out in "default" pose. Not sure about having a 3d version of my online persona, though. I certainly don't want a statue of *me* in my house, although an action figure does have its appeal.
But you have to admit, anyone that can make an "A Christmas Story" Italian Leg Lamp reference in their FAQ is worthy of a you hard earned money. Fra-gee-lay.
