The slightly less main stream magazine Computer Games is in my opinion the best PC game magazine going in the United States (I do like the UK import magazine Edge a bit more). They have just spun off a new quarterly publication, Massive Magazine. Massive is dedicated to coverage of Massively Multiplayer Online Games. Considering my interest in the topic, I must say I was really excited when I finally saw a copy at my local Borders Books. The magazine is actually quite well done with articles from industry insiders Raph Koster, Richard A. Bartle, Richard Garriot, Brad McQuaid, Nick Yee, and even 3PointD's Mark Wallace.
My only gripe is that most of the coverage is dedicated so completely on MMOGs that Virtual Worlds are all but ignored. There is a small discussion of Second Life on page 56, or I should say a paragraph on Second Life on page 56. Does this make the magazine not worth reading for the dedicated Second Life resident? In a word, NO. For me this magazine stands up with Computer Games as the top magazine in its Genre and certainly a good time waster during Grid downtime.

1. Anyone picked up a copy yet? I'll have to hit the local Borders and see if it's around.
