I think one of the requirements for covering SL should be an open, questioning mind. Too many journalists come to SL with preconceived notions of what they'll experience, and thus come away with the attitude that it's all just a fad, or simply "not for" them, and therefore dismissable. In this article in Ecommercetimes.com, Jon Udell bucks the trend with several points in his favor.- He's respectful of the time and effort that object creation takes
- He rightly equates SL's current state with the state of the emerging Internet circa 1994
- He understands that the compulsion of SL is its social nature
More of this, please, Internet Pundits!
