Todd Borst has been working on a little something for a while. Making prims dance. Or, more properly, producing an animation system that non-scripters can use to animate their prim creations. The work of only a few days, coupled with rather a lot of polishing, this man can make penguins dance!
Todd produces two versions of his 'Puppeteer' prim animation system. One for free, costing L$0 allowing you to animate your own objects, but not transferrably. The 'vendor' version costs L$300 and allows your creations to be transferred or resold.
The tutorial, pictured above, explains fairly simply and visually (Let's see more instructions like this, please!) how to place the components in your object. Once you've done that, you start recording, and pose your object, using the standard SL building tools. At the end, close the recording, and watch that penguin dance!
It's a lot of fun, and it costs nothing to try it for yourself. Also, if you head on down to the DeathDealerZ Mall, in Gaori you can see more demos of the Puppeteer in action. If you head down there at 8PM SLT for the Best In Furry contest, there will be folks there to talk about it and answer questions.
I think it's a neat and cool gadget.
Disclosure: I'm a sucker for a dancing prim penguin :)
[UPDATE: Todd's moved his wares to a less laggy location in Schell - Links in this post have been changed to reflect that.]

1. Wonderful, my little shoulder penguin will now have the joy of animation!
