Second Life gives us a place to put our profile information. We can fill in pictures and information about out first and second lives. We can list our interests, it shows our groups, start-date, account type, ratings and partners. There's now a space for a web-profile if we can and want to provide one and we can list our favorite places in our Picks, or subvert that to show our favorite people.
How important is it to have a fleshed out profile for your avatar? Do you look at people's profiles? Do their profiles information (or lack of any) affect your impression of the person?

1. My profile is fairly complete, compressing a lot of information into the spaces provided...and I even have my blog available in the new Web tab.
Many times, when looking at a new job applicant, I'll pull their profile to check out how new they are and whether they're verified accounts, which I consider preferred (though we will consider unverifieds as well). I also have done some probing of friends' and acquaintances' profiles, to see how they're using the new Web tab. I've found one or two new blogs for my blogroll that way...
