Apologies for the clunky title, but it says it all: I had the honor of being given a tour of the Rod Laver Arena build in SL, home to the Australian Open event, though closed to the general public. The lovely and witty Gizzy Electricteeth guided me around the substantial build, which she reveals was modeled as closely as possible after the RL Arena. It's a Great Build, so have a look at the results! Here's the front entrance area, with the cute tennis ball mascot atop the fully-functional teleportation sign.

As with the RL Rod Laver Arena, there are kiosks all over the place, though only a few of them had been reproduced for the SL version. This stand offered all manner of Australian Open merchandise for sale. I managed to walk away with a mascot that follows me around!

Here's another shot of the front area; it's kinda eerie with no one there ...

Here is the actual playing area, which receives real-time ball coordinate information, and updates the action to suit.

My guide, the wonderful Gizzy Electricteeth!

The placards that update with the tournament information, also in real-time.

A more comprehensive gift shop. We walk in to discover ...

OMGWTFBBQ!

An open-air video screen, which was inactive at the time, as we were between matches.

And finally, zooming out, it's plain that the builders of the Arena were given a mandate: Remind everyone that they're here for Tennis!

1. How to go in the place you describes??? I can'f find in second life!
