The reported daily spending figure on the front page has been taking a bit of a dive lately. Robin Linden reports that it was discovered that this was caused by the statistical processes accessing the wrong database. This has been corrected and the front page is showing the true figures.Critics will, no doubt, be quick to wonder about the veracity of other published statistical figures. The daily spending figure itself has attracted quite a bit of attention in the last few days.
Presumably, the error will result in Linden Lab paying more attention to double-checking the published statistics and the systems that generate them (Total signups, for example, stops reporting several times each day for an hour or more at a stretch).
