Following on from articles about SL Bounty and Semper International the people at Second Life Project were keen to ask me to look at their site too. Although journalists should report the news rather than make it, the site's host has made a couple of changes that I think are for the better following some questions I asked him - hopefully he finds them improvements too!
Second Life Project is a little different to either of the other sites I've mentioned, in positive ways. You can not only recruit, but you can also manage your project and all the project workers through the site, including planning and distributing information about your project live to all members. This side of their operations is free and quite extensive - in fact I'm going to complete filling in my registration details in full when I've posted this!
Recruiting is really easy too, people who are registered on the site are divided up into builders, scripters, marketers and publishers so you can hunt down the type of person you want quickly and easily and approach them directly, as well as posting your project so others can see what you want and apply.
There are also two levels of pay service. The fees are low ($37.97 and $87.97) a year (that's US$) which lets you add extra things to your profile - slurls, video footage, etc. and also buy you a certain amount of advertising. As costs for advertising go this strikes me as very low if you're managing any sort of business that is actually likely to make money in SL, and it seems very likely it will advertise directly to some of your best potential clients quite efficiently.
SLBounty is still the one I look at and say "Why didn't I think of that first?" The SL Developers list and now Second Life Project are the places I'll point outsiders who want to hire professional people to work for them in SL.
