Following a different route to SL Tree (as reported here), we have another SLURL directory service, called sloog.org.
Sloog.org will have an interface familiar to those of you that love your web 2.0 sites, tag clouds, most popular places, recently added etc. It adds a search engine as well, always nice, that works quickly and smoothly. The place where I suspect sloog.org will score highly with many users is its in-world use. A visit to their headquarters to grab a sloog HUD and off you go. You can save tags along with your location as a slurl, search tags in Second Life and get the top 10 results of your search directed to you as slurls (I have to open my history to get them as a slurl, but once there they work just fine).
If you make a mistake (forgetting the colon in /7 search: and /7 tag: was one I made a few times) you get a polite message telling that it doesn't recognise what you've said, in fact you get good clear feedback about all the steps in the process. Sloog.org just could be a real winner - now to go tag all the places I like!
