1. According to a post I read else-forums, most metaverse development companies wont take a corporate order for a sim for anything less than between 50k$-100k$ USD. So maybe a first for regular folk, and in the public light, but my impression is it isn't truly a first.

3. Tateru, what's your source for this story? Or at least, what's the item number of the auction you're talking about? The only Amsterdam sim auction I could find on Ebay is sitting at $1 at the time of this writing.

5. I do hope whoever takes over the sim in the end keeps the atmosphere of the place. As I've understood it, Amsterdam region in its original state has a certain charm for Tateru. I'd be strongly inclined to agree with her on it...

8. According to the news website nu.nl the buyer is a real-estate company called Nedstede, in real life located in Amsterdam.
The company is active in the development of real-estate and wants to expand in the digital world.

9. I believe this is by far the most anyone has paid for an existing sim. Amsterdam sold for roughly twenty times the cost of an empty off-the-shelf sim.


But as others pointed out, it definitely costs that much or more to hire someone to fill the sim with stuff. And the stuff won't be as good as what Stroker
filled Amsterdam with... it's probably the best build on the Grid. Stroker is a true SL artist (and an incredibly versatile one, who has built items ranging
from small unmentionable body parts all the way to whole cities.)

(It is not clear exactly what the unknown owner bought. The Amsterdam sim is part of a continent which Stroker still owns. And there are several parcels of
land on the sim, most but not all of which were officially quite-unquote "owned" by a group headed by Strokers' associates; this group also included the
employees at his club BabyDollz, and his partner's retail tenants. Hopefully it will all work out for the best.)
