With thanks to Patchouli Woollahra for a snap and the full details: SL started off April Fools with a grey goo attack. Self-replicating cubes that spawned deeply unpleasant images and were physical to boot. The grey goo fence buckled, but did not break and normal service (if a little slow to rez sometimes) was resumed within 2 hours.
And on a happier note: try reading the screens when you tp.

3. One has to lament the imbecility of the people behind these attacks. This has gotten to the level of script kiddies doing this only because they have automated tools.

1. ETU Abriacciare was attacked by mulitplying bees, mulitplying scripts and multiplyig buzz notecards today, creating such serious damage that the sim had to be closed and we now have to await a rollback. Furniture was lost, buildings damgaed, business halted.
