Today, rather than a big single topic for discussion from the SLED list, a couple of short pieces about teaching and so forth in SL.
- Barwinners will be coming to SL according to emediawire.com. Barwinners, according to their own advertising, train law students how to pass their exams, and for 25 years have been hugely successful at this. This one seems to be of particular interest to US lawyers and other details are sketchy to put it mildly.
- There is an excellent summary of the Enhancing Learning seminar given at the BECTA Enhancing learning; virtual worlds, simulations and game based learning conference that ran on Tuesday. This mentions SL in passing in a couple of places, and contains a link out to a large teen-grid project called Schome Park. A wiki well worth a long look in my opinion.
- Finally, architects are looking at ways they can cooperate to build inside SL, and inviting SL residents to work with them. The site feels comfortable to me, because all times are UK times, be warned! If you'd like to have a look at what they're up to, or join in, their event is running until 19th May at Architecture Island. Once this story is filed I'll be going to have a look, and if the island is as nice as it should be, I'll be sure to file a report.
