Camping out in Philip Linden's office this weekend three angry residents are looking for a show of unity in protesting what they see as an ill-timed update, breaking functionality across the weekend. Magi Merlin, Nicole Aferdita, and Pearl Cazalet have eschewed their weekend activities to demonstrate their ire at Linden Lab's conduct in this matter.
They feel very strongly that the update was unprofessional, ill-advised and unnecessarily risky given the timing.
"It seems like basic common sense and good business practice not to update on a Friday," said Cazalet.
Merlin agreed. "[D]eploying a patch to a system like this at the time they did is very unprofessional, especially as they did not stay around to see if it settled in."
The trio announced their intention to contact the Linden Lab board with their protest, starting with Mitch Kapor. They also wish to grow their protest to fill, and perhaps overload the Waterhead sim (notable for it's proximity to Linden inworld offices, general age, Philip Linden's office and status as the Welcome Area that was in use before the Ahern Welcome area opened for business).
Right now, with only three avatars present, it is quite a modest process. Only time will tell if they achieve the sort of numbers to make Linden Lab staff sit up and take notice.
[UPDATE: Philip Linden put in an appearance at the protest]

1. A very noble idea. To bad Linden Lab will simply ignore it like they ignore everything else
