1. I wouldn't pay US$80 for a Plantronics headset, anyway. Sennheiser, maybe. But you can actually get a Sennheiser PC151 noise-cancelling headset for less than US$50...and, having used a number of Sennheiser headphones, I know how good they are. We're talking pro-quality stuff, the kind used by top DJs and radio stations...

Both Danielle and I use $20 headsets in conjunction with both SL and Skype, and they work just fine.

2. Yeah, it's no worry that you have to get only their products. Just about anything will do... even a webcam with mic built-in will works.

(which doesn't actually use video streaming, of course.)

3. Thanks for posting about this, Tateru. I checked prices right after LL wrote about partnering with GBH and realized they were apparently not discounted at all. You should be able to pick up the high-end sets for at least US$20 less than GBH is selling them for.

5. i find it funny as the headset LL are offering are on sale here in the uk for £19.99 or roughly $40USD and that is from pc world , comet , currys and other such places and to see LL offering them for $81 is really funny lol as $81 works out to be £39.98 uk so let it be known LL are STILL ripping us all off by selling budget price items as an over priced necessity then there back to there old tricks....i''m STILL waiting for my account to be fixed and thats been 4 months
