Right up front I'm going to have to say I'm in favor of this idea. I'm a big believer in the truly decentralized, Democratic nature of the Internet, meaning its ability for anyone with the desire and drive to put up their content and give everyone their ideas. So, the SLJoe.com weekly newscast has the potential to be a welcome addition to the current roster of news sites and programs available to residents.Having said that, here's what I'd like to see SLJoe.com fix:1) Grammar: This is a problem endemic to the Internet as a whole, so it's perhaps understandable to see it here, but as a news source, you want to get this right: The plural form of a noun does not include an apostrophe. Incorrect: topic's. Correct: topics.
2) Presentation: I appreciate the lipsync technology used in the newscast, as it does help to 'sell' the idea of the avatar as anchorman. However, when impassioned speech is issuing forth from an avatar, it would be nice to see the avatar's expression change to match.
3) Content: It's good to hear off-the cuff remarks when in a live forum, but in a prerecorded composition, take the time to write out a script. I caught several unnecessary word choice repetitions, and a few stumbles.
This definitely has the potential to be cool, especially weekly, so I hope these criticisms are taken to heart.

1. Disagree. SLJoe is rumored to set up his own scenarios with alts and accomplices - just to come up with stories. Reference: http://www.your2ndplace.com/node/113
People in the forums have mentioned him as well.
He certainly doesn't evoke trust... or, in my opinion, links. But you went there, so I commented.
