Whether or not it breaks the TOS, there is a transcript of yesterday's office meeting with Robin Linden published. There is a lot in there, and it's well worth reading in its entirety, but a couple of things leap out at me.
First, Robin says she's the person that was behind Daniel's post - so she should take the heat. Possibly true, especially if she edited it and approved it because she also reiterates that Daniel's post simply reaffirms the Community Standards. I still can't read it that way, so there's something wrong there.
Second Robin claims that this statement does not act against Gor and BDSM - activities which are broadly tolerated and accepted in SL. She does, however go on to ask:
"Robin Linden: Let me ask you all this. When faced with an opportunity to create a new world where things are supposed to be better, do you think there's a place for slavery, forced sex, and the like?"
Well - I have three responses to that:
- There is a virtual world called Sociolotron which seems to do quite nicely on precisely that basis
- Would you choose to create a world in which people are not free to explore such things on a voluntary basis if they wish, whilst being protected from being forced into such situations?
- When faced with an opportunity to create a new world where things are supposed to be better, do you think there's a place where the defacto unelected government can take action against how consenting adults choose to conduct their private lives?

1. Some people clearly think that a place to do "safe" extreme sex *is* "a better world." It's not my thing, but I don't have a problem with what consenting adults do behind closed doors.
However, I do have a problem if someone says they are acting with the community's wishes in mind, when there hasn't been much of an attempt to find out what the community really wants. There's more than enough of that in Real Life, and I don't want to see it in Second Life.
Now, it's possible that LL would find out that lots of the community would like SL to be Sex Life, and LL isn't interested in doing just that. Then they could say "sorry, guys, we're not going there." That would be acting on actual information gathered, and I'd be ok with that, because it would be an honest decision based on real data.
