Mizuguchi to bring Japanese pop-culture into Second Life

If you geek out in the right areas, you'll know the name Mizuguchi Tetsuya. If you don't, here's a couple clues, Space Channel 5, Rez and Lumines. That Mizuguchi. For some gamers that name's instantly recognizable. Sure, he's no Miyamoto, but many consider him to be right up there.

According to 1UP, Japanese advertising firm Dentsu approached Mizuguchi with the idea of creating a virtual Tokyo within Second Life (the fact that we already have one or two notwithstanding. There's always room for another Tokyo). While Mizuguchi initially was cool on the idea, he warmed to the possibilities over time.

"I hope to make Virtual Tokyo like a museum of Japanese pop culture. My friends abroad have told me often that there's so much materials and it's never preserved. This might be the perfect place for it."
