Let's Go Shopping - Men's Edition

Mmm. Yummy. It has been observed on numerous occasions that there's just not as much out there for the boys as there is for the girls. Well, that's true. It's also true that if you changed outfits more often, honey, there'd be more money in helping you do it.

Nevertheless, there's good stuff out there, and we're aiming to find it for you. Here's the results of this week's determined shopping for the boys. If you missed last week's edition, you can find it here. On with the show!

[BB] Barnes' Boutique

(Barnesworth Anubis)

Barnesworth Anubis has been in the fashion industry in Second Life for sometime, and it shows in his work. His pieces are clean, elegant and minimalist, svelte-fitting and good-looking. Hand-drawn garments (we love non-photo-sourced work!) show attention to detail, and the coloring for all pieces is subdued and unassuming, perfect for the gentleman who wants to make a statement without shouting. There are complete suits, individual shirts, pants and sweaters, and shoes to choose from, and, of course, the "Dapper Hat."

Interestingly, the high point and the low point for this store coincide in the same garment and the same detail: the collar of the V-Necked Sweater. In the Fashion Plates, you will see that from the front, the collar looks promisingly 3D, and is expertly shaded. Move over the shoulder, however, and you find that the collar does not match up at the seam.

Nora BodySkins and Fashions

(Sezmra Svarog)

Sezmra Svarog released the skins "Hunter" and "David" earlier in the year; in the interim she has produced shapes to complement them, and a styling reference card to help you to achieve the exact look she did. If you like, the boys are both athletes, but David is the swimmer and Hunter is the runner of the pair. Both skins, in all colors, come with a standard look with stubble options, an aged look with stubble options, and in a makeup pack with eyeshadow options.

If you are not ready to fork out all that money for a skin quite yet, don't forget that you can always try on the demo skin that Sezmra makes available for each skin type; additionally, Sezmra has a good quality freebie skin available to help out our newbie community.

=BG= Brutal Gear

(Nex Brannan)

Nex Brannan's gear is obviously intended for harsh conditions and rough riding. Either it's ripped apart, or tough enough to take the beating. Frayed, worn and filthy jeans were at the top of my picks, with the brash and burly Highwayman Jacket to top them off. Especially for the quality of work, the prices are exceptionally reasonable - the seam at the shoulder of the camo tank isn't even visible in these photos.

As an added bonus, directly next door to =BG=, in the Calla store, is a display of rough and ready hairstyles for men, with the evocative names of Ignition, Clutch, Double Clutch, Torque, Ratchet, Lifter, and Turbo.

Fashion Plates:

Skin:
Nora Entice skin David in Almond, with and without stubble, and Nora David shape throughout.

Hair:
Shorter: Sirena Brad Black Pack.
Longer: =BG= Brutal Gear Gearhead Turbo in Brown Colors.

Clothing:
=BG= Brutal Gear 177 Straightleg Jeans Filthy
=BG= Camo Tank Sand
[BB] V-Neck Sweaters - 4 colors
[BB] Navy 2 button suit w/ 3 ties
