2. Well, so far it seems to be pretty nifty for basic communication and such. Teleports aren't working for me, but that's the largest problem I've encountered so far.

3. Sounds like a very useful tool. A little bit of shame this company didn't do a little bit of research first about their chosen name though. There's been a SLeek gym in SL for quite a while.

4. Ah maybe I'll be able to run SLeek on my laptop as the current SL clients crashes every 10 minutes or so - perfect for on the road! :) You can't really compare a client app with a web app (Kat's) though. Instead of an AJAX client it would actually be nice to see a java client so you can actually walk around in second life without having to download anything.

5. The disadvantage to a Java app is that I can't get to it at school, or on my Wii, or on my computer without Java installed. Which limits its usefulness for me, and thus isn't something I was likely to work on. :p

And SLeek has been around for quite a while too. Never actually used it, but I've known of its existence for ages. :p

6. Sleek has actually been around since at least 2006. It does indeed use libsl. And it's not developed by a company, but one guy.

As for usefulness, it's best for doing simple chat and teleport operations, much like AjaxLife. The benefit of desktop app. vs. web depends on your situation. Sleek is also the only third party open source client thing for SL that I know of that is actually going for a whole suite rather than specific operations (besides AjaxLife of course).
