4. This is just a piece to try to make the writer look "ahead of his time" or "uberhip" ... he's just naming 5 VERY POPULAR things that also a majority of the US could be annoyed hearing about. You ask 40million people if they like myspace or hate it, and they'll all say both!
These 5 worsts are so easy to write. You just pick anything people could have a discussion about.

5. By the way.. just read the PCMAG article......

WHAT A HUGE FRIGGIN DUMBASS!!! I do give him credit for getting myspace and twitter right....

... but how faaar friggin' off could he be about Second Life. Yeah, some RL companies come in and do it wrong.... so it's just proving that its NOT a myspace or some other site where you can be bombarded with the corporate shaft.

Second Life is inventing new ideals and laws about LIFE! Our lives, the ones we live. The time and effort we're putting into this has PROVEN EFFECTIVE time and time again. Every minute in Second Life there is a new discovery, something learned, a model for the future is forged, a path is taken, business is conducted, worthwhile trusting business relationships are created, money is made... and lost.

So to the writer of that PC mag article...... when you enter secondlife, your Avatar doesn't have to have to have a huge mole on your forehead and you can actually become a respected journalist.

6. I think that for the media SL is definitely a site. In the recent past, I have come across a number of major newscasters referring to SL as a "site". Appears that in the mind of the public SL is indeed another site. I read something on commoncraft blog the other day which illustrates how terms go handwire in the world of web 2.0, a lot of teens using face book for example did not know what RSS was when they were actively using it, but they called it "news feed". One could argue that at some level, if indeed "site" becomes the norm to refer to SL, then one say some level of cosmetic integration of SL and the web has already happened.
