Following up on the issue with the nude statue at Burning Life, quite a number of Residents have been in touch since the story was posted, and we've got two additional things to mention.
Firstly, the simulator in which the statue was sited was rebooted just after the move with minimum notice (two minutes, we are told). The people who were present report that they feel that the restart of the simulator was basically to boot off the protesters. Whatever the actual motive for the simulator restart, the timing and the short notice left the people who were present with ill-feeling.
Second, Cheen Pitney, the creator of the statue contacted us just a short time ago. "Well, I never imagined anything like this when I assembled this display, I thought nudity without sexual overtones was fine. This piece was meant as a statement on our need to overuse the world's water resources, it was nowhere near finished.... there would be figures on the perimeter that tried vainly to recover some of this water runoff," said Pitney.
"Unfortunately when I tried to move it ( it was not all in one piece) I lost most of it," Pitney added, and will have to start the work over - though Pitney did not seem unduly fazed by the incident or the need to redo the work.

1. To Cheen Pitney,
A Very Nice and Thoughtful piece of work u do here. I hope not too much trouble for u to make another.
