Tateru normally comments on the metrics for population etc. as they are published. I won't tread on her toes for that, look for the report soon!However, Meta Linden in her post talks about some new metrics to do with performance, which are new. Unlike the other metrics you must look at the Google Docs version at the moment - NeoOffice and Excel downloads don't contain the data. It turns out that, through July, about:
- 22.4% of sessions "end abnormally" - that's a crash probably;
- 7.2% of sessions are ended by server abnormally - server restart for example, although days with rolling restarts are higher than this;
- only about 7.5% of us send crash reports.
- 0.97% of sims get "good performance" >35fps (I assume this means 97% but the published data says 0.97%)
- these days if you get under 7 client fps you're doing badly, around 13 is median, over 21 is good.
So, now you know. If you're getting less than 13fps, try dropping draw distance and so on. Just under a quarter of sessions end in crashes is scary... but at least we can see if they do get better over time!
[EDIT: Corrected gender of personal pronoun for Meta. Sorry!]
