1. The funniest part about these surveys is that I always get them after a random, totally freeze-up.

I'll be doing something, lock up totally, relog and find the survey.

It's like sending it to me crashed me.

2. I've gotten it multiple times, and I have never chosen better for one reason: the form will not allow me to add a comment. Perhaps it's a Mac thing, but if they can't even manage to solicit customer feedback competently, then I won't give them good marks.

4. I got this one, twice actually. I ended up choosing "better" the 2nd time and "worse" the first - probably because the first time I had just crashed.

5. For the past 5 and a half weeks it has been bad and getting worse. Ever since the Sep. 24th rolling restart, I've had extremely bad lag and more and more frequent random crashes, inventory problems, and just general crappy service. I used to be able to zone into a new area and be totally rezzed in within a half a minute and could get generally uninterrupted music streams. Now it takes me 30 minutes to fully rez in, if I'm lucky. Over half the time, I'm either "ruthed" or with 75% of my attachments attached to my butt, and I'm extremely lucky to get 5 seconds of stream out of each minute. If not for the love of my second life, I would have quit weeks ago.

Worse.

Why? After being in SL since feb 2005 and every week every month it has always been some problems new or old ones.. I am sure I dont need to write about what ones.. all of us know..

My nature are ”it wil be better” ”we make it” - ”we do it” - ”we will we can..” BUT when you hit problems again and again.. you get stressed and frustrated.

Sorry but i feel..very frustrated.

7. #5 above says it all. For the last few weeks it's been like all of the gains made since about the time of the original first look viewer have been tossed overboard. Everything that bothered a large number of people in the past is back...packet loss, lag, slow texture loading, attachment positioning, you name it, it's back...and worse yet, absolutely no acknowledgment that any of this is happening, just like the bad old days.

LL guys...this is the stuff we want to know that you know is happening again. The little tutorials and and other things in the blog are nice, and the general tone of more openness has been good, but over the last couple of weeks the number of blog posts about real things have been way down, as always seems to happen in times of real grid problems. When real asset server and net connection problems crop up, which is what this feels like, give us some indication that at least you know it's happening. I really think that none of you actually spends much time in-world traveling about anymore, so that you know these things. (And don't depend so much on JIRA, as at least 90% of your users will never use it, and a large majority of those that do are more concerned with how building and scripting tools are working than just day to day quality of second life issues. That is just the way it is, so take that into account.)

8. When the survey popped up for me, I thought, Great! Now Linden Labs will have a more immediate source of feedback, and people won't need to wade through the tedious process of creating a ticket. So, I clicked "Better."

Then I wanted to add a comment, but the text field would not let me enter anything. Which makes any feedback impossible.

So I changed my vote to "Worse."

10. Got this survey sent to me four times. The first three times, I answered worse. The fourth you can probably guess... Yes, I ignored it.

I don't seem to crash as much lately, but it's probably because I don't leave SL open long enough without restarting it myself after every time my attachments appear on my ass and my HUD attachments get hidden. And that happens with a one in three chance whenever I change regions.

What do I think about the survey? It's a way for them to hoard statistics and to fool residents into thinking that their comments count for something.

11. I know this post I'm replying to is rather old now but I'm hoping some people will come back to it because I'm kind of curious about the replies.

I also recieved the survey and in all honesty I had to say improved. I joined in 2005 and I spend on average about 20-30 hours per week on SL. I build mostly and go to live events like Kosumo's gigs or Cypress Rosewood events and the like. While there are problems and they certainly aren't little ones, on average I don't seem to have as many problems as I continously see people post about in various blogs.

At least not as often as comments like the above would make it seem. Am I just lucky or is there something else going on? I use SL on five different machines, three Windows machines (2 XP and 1 Vista), one Mac and one Linux machine. One of the windows machines is an old pentium III 1 giga hertz machine that SL runs very slow but it works for when I'm traveling. The Mac is an old G4 iMac dome though it doesn't run anymore so my recent Mac experience is rather limited with SL.

I've only lost inventory once and that was a year ago during a land and home purchase when a grid problem was going on. Not to smart to attempt that at that moment but the seller was in a hurry to buy an island.

It would be interesting to get a feel for what machines and how big an inventory those who always seem to have problems are using and have.

Or is it just the in thing to bash SL no matter what is happening there, kind of like bashing Microsoft these days. I really do not intend this message to start any type of flame war, I'm just curious.
