Halloween Haunts: Graveyard Dancefloor

I got some responses to my call for Halloween-themed builds, so I'm going to give them some love as promised. First, we have a lovely graveyard dancefloor, which can be yours courtesy of Csteph Submariner and SLexchange. I've tested it, as you can see in the Gallery; it's definitely danceable! And don't weep for me, dancing all alone; as a werewolf, I'm obliged now and again to do the odd Monster Mash.

(Thanks, Chris!)

Sculptie animals to animate your Second Life

While browsing SL Exchange for sculpties, I came across a really cool set of animals made by Timmi Allen. The appeal for me, of course, is that there were holstein cows among them! When I arrived to his shop in Neuland, I was surprised to find very realistic statues. They're even animated so that their mouths open and their tails wag!

I'm really excited to see what residents have done so far with sculpties. In conjunction with regular prims, they allow a whole new level of customization. Have you made anything you'd like to show off? Leave a comment!

Bounce for Relay For Life!

Relay For Life has had a presence in Second Life for three years now, which means plenty of pink, pink, pink! With teams creating hair, clothing, and skins sold to profit RFL, Tiernan Serpentine has a different idea on what sells: FUN.

Tiernan has released a limited quantity bouncy castle, with 100% of the proceeds going to Relay For Life. It is a relative bargain at 150L and will surely provide hours of fun for you and your friends. It can be found on SL Exchange, or the Filth Magazine plot.

Are you selling an interesting item to benefit Relay For Life? Let me know!

Noelyci's Codex Observatory

Noelyci Ingmann has no home, no plot of land in which to plant this wonderful build, and that's a shame. He invited me recently to take a walk through his observatory and I took photos. Noelyci is offering this build on SLExchange for 4800L. From the listing: "Each compass rose has different things that can happen. The top floor reveals a codex if you click the diamond and the codex itself has particles that respond to touch. The middle floor has a ring of torches that are revealed by clicking the diamond. The bottom floor will turn into a tub if you click the ring and then the blue button on the stone next to it."

I've got photos, check 'em out! Noelyci would also like it known that he's looking for someone to host this build on their land in exchange for the build itself. Anyone?

Rant: New Products Advertised Without Pictures

First impressions are everything. Most businesses will spend a bit of time designing their packaging and taking photos to advertise in the official New Products forums. They know the value of a good picture. Some, however, will simply state that they have a great item that they'd love for you to buy, and link you to their store in-world or on SLExchange.

Often, I won't even read the text in a post until I've seen what an outfit or skin looks like. Even if their product is amazing, they will have lost my potential sale due to lack of proper information. It might involve a little extra work, but keep your future customers in mind the next time you post on the forums, and everyone wins.

Art or not?

Axel Truss is selling a one prim sculpture for $1999 lindens on SL exchange. Is it art? Or ... not?
