Lost & Found - Asset server gives wrong snapshot

Dear Second Life Resident,
While out and about shopping today, I came upon a product that I wanted to show my friend. Unfortunately, they were unable to come to the store at that very moment. Thinking quickly, I took a photo of the ad and fired it off to them. Imagine my surprise when it loaded and it wasn't mine at all!

The funny thing is, it says that I took it. It also shows the exact location that I am standing as the area of origin. Judging from your picture, it was obviously framed very nicely, so I'm sure you'll want it back. I propose a trade. Let me know if this works for you!

Sincerely,
moo Money

Are you the girl from this photo? Did you take the photo of this girl? Please leave a comment or contact me in-world if you have any details.

State of UK academia in SL updated

You may, or may not remember a piece I wrote in July about the report into the use of SL by UK Higher Educational establishments.

The snapshot has been updated, and the new version is available in pdf via this website. It also includes references to the writings of one Pasteur, E. which makes me feel inordinately proud!

If you'd like to read more about what Eduserv are doing in SL their main page is here. There are two further reports to come, one next March, the final one in September 2008.

Torley Linden teaches photography

Torley Linden explains how to use the new snapshot tools in Second Life. Also, he provides some advice on how to make your pictures more interesting. Definitely worth watching.

Resident Snapshot: Aden Lasek

This is the third in a series of mini-interviews with the residents of Second Life. For the most part, I'll try to leave the responses unedited, except where editing will grant greater clarity. Get to know these people; they're worth befriending!

Aden Lasek is new to SL as of this post, but he moves fast. He's friendly, funny, and sharp as a sharp thing! I'm happy to call him Friend!

Your Name: My name is Aden Lasek

When did you first come to SL?: I joined Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at around 5
PM

How did you choose your name?:
Well, here's a bit of a story for you: Aden is
NOT my real first name. But I plan to change my name to that in the future.
And 'Lasek' made me think of Bucky Lasik. And they all lived happily ever
after. The end. :D

What's your favorite thing about SL?:
My favorite thing would have to be
that people are really friendly to newcomers

What do you like least about SL?: What I like least would be that some
things load a bit slow for me, and may take a while to fully rez, which is
a small bother but it's not too bad

Favorite hangout/store/club?:
I love to hang out with everyone in The Shelter!
They're all really nice and was the first place I discovered when I joined
and everyone was very friendly with me

Name one new feature you'd like to see added to SL:
I can't really name one,
because it has so many, even some I havent discovered yet!

Shout Outs: Hi Dragonfan Hooper, snapper Desade, and Phil Stanley. :D
